Students that do not know exactly where they see themselves as they complete their college journey will take this route. The SEU Extension program requires a minimum of 8 hours a week for practicum (i.e. serving on a team) to be fulfilled. Non-interns will still be required to serve for a minimum of 8 hours a week in an area of ministry that he/she chooses to fulfill this requirement. Although you may choose this program, you will still be required to attend the weekly discipleship courses within the minimum 8 hour requirement.

Students that know they want to serve in ministry long-term, potentially seeking a career in ministry, would choose our internship. Those that take this route will spend the majority of their time during the week training and growing in the area of ministry they feel interested in pursuing. Interns will train on campus based on what best fits the City Church Staff member’s work schedule and the student’s schedule. If we have serving opportunities for interns to participate in, and it exceeds the 15 hour minimum, the student is more than welcome to participate if he/she likes. If the event fits within the area they are serving in, it is up to the staff member to determine if the intern is required to attend.

DOES THIS COST MONEY IN ADDITION TO PAYING FOR SCHOOL?

Yes. The cost is $500/per year for all participants in City Church College (this applies to interns and non-interns). This is called a site fee.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERN VS. NON- INTERN AND WHY?

Intern – Students that know that they are called to serve in ministry long-term or to pursue as a career. An intern will spend a minimum of 15 hours per week on campus training and growing in the field of ministry they feel they would operate best in.

WHAT’S THE GOAL (INTERNSHIP -- TOWARDS WHAT)?

The internship is offered to position young adults for exactly what they want to do during and after college. This could be, but is not limited to drawing closer to God, serving, learning how to operate in ministry, etc. Our goal is to help students reach their goal.

An orientation that goes into further detail will be scheduled for students who plan to take their next steps at CCC.
