Applicants may choose from the degrees listed above for this track and register for the courses offered within the course catalogue. The SEU Extension program requires a minimum of 8 hours a week for practicum (i.e. serving on a team) to be fulfilled. Degree Track participants will still be required to serve for a minimum of 8 hours a week in an area of ministry that he/she chooses to fulfill this requirement. Although you may choose this program, you will still be required to attend the weekly discipleship courses within the minimum 8 hour requirement.

College students that are potentially seeking a career in ministry, would choose this track. Those that take this route will spend the majority of their time during the week training and growing in the area of ministry they feel interested in pursuing. Participants will train on campus based on what best fits the City Church Staff member’s work schedule and the college student’s schedule. Those that choose this track will need to dedicate 15 hours/per week minimally (this will also fulfill SEU’s requirement that each college student spend 8 hour/per week in practicum).

IN DEPTH MINISTRY TRAINING

Those that take this route will spend the majority of their time during the week training and growing in the area of ministry they feel interested in pursuing. Interns will train on campus based on what best fits the City Church Staff member’s work schedule and the student’s schedule.

DO COLLEGE STUDENTS THAT ATTEND CITY CHURCH COLLEGE NEED TO ATTEND/BE A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH?

No, you do not have to be a member of City Church to enroll.

DO THEY NEED TO BE PRESENT ON CAMPUS IN THE DURATION OF ENROLLMENT?

Yes, however, we do offer a Degree only track that will not require onsite attendance.

WHAT DOES THE MINISTRY TRACK OF SEU LOOK LIKE?

Time Expectation No more than 15hrs/per week required for participants. Discipleship courses will require attendance one day per week and are included in the minimum time requirement.

Purpose of Ministry Track Equipping college students to train and grow within the direct area they are studying in.

DOES THIS COST MONEY IN ADDITION TO PAYING FOR SCHOOL?

Yes. The cost is $500/per year for all participants in City Church College (this applies to both tracks available). This is called a site fee.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEGREE TRACK & DEGREE + MINISTRY TRACK, AND WHY?

Ministry Track – Students that know that they are called to serve in ministry long-term or to pursue as a career. An intern will spend a minimum of 15 hours per week on campus training and growing in the field of ministry they feel they would operate best in.

Non-InternStudents that do not know exactly where they see themselves as they complete their college journey. A non-intern will spend a minimum of 8 hours a week serving in an area of their choice to fulfill the practicum requirement of SEU.

WHAT’S THE GOAL (MINISTRY TRACK -- TOWARDS WHAT)?

This track is offered to position college students for exactly what they want to do during and after college. This could be, but is not limited to drawing closer to God, serving, learning how to operate in ministry, etc. Our goal is to help college students reach their goal.

WILL WE HAVE A PLACE TO STUDY/WORK?

Yes. This is located on the City Church campus, in the Kids building. This space is available for every college student to use at any point during the week. This can be used for course work, study time, practicum work, or even just a place for you to read/relax. This is for you, and is your space for anything you may need.

WHAT IS AN OPEN HOUSE?

This is an event that takes place one a quarter (every 9 weeks) to introduce you to City Church College. It will never be more than an hour long and is an opportunity for you to ask questions you may have. This is located in the City Church College room (on City Church campus, in the Kids building). Don’t worry! This is an event with no strings attached. An orientation that goes into further detail will be scheduled for those who plan to take their next steps at CCC.

IS HOUSING AN OPTION?

At this time, we do not facilitate housing for college students.

IS OUR STAFF REGULARLY A PART OF EITHER TRACK DURING THE STUDENT’S PRACTICUM?

Yes. Regardless of either track, each college student will be working directly with most of our church staff.
